Video taken on my cellphone of a litter of Australian Cattle Dog/ Blue Heeler puppies at a local shelter. The then 8 puppies had been abandoned in a box under a tree (presumably at birth) and found on New Years. They are about 5 weeks old in this video and 3 of the litter had already been adopted out. After much discussion and preparation we adopted the runt of the litter, the one with the blue eye. It is unknown if the litter are full Blue Heeler or a mix but the blue eye is a rare trait in the breed (regardless of if the AKC will recognize it).
On a side note, remember to consider adoption first. You are saving a life and the money supports saving other pets, not making someone a profit. Also, keep Blue Heelers as working dogs not show dogs!
Holy crap, those puppies are adorable! I don't understand why people abandon animals. Our Docker dog was adopted, and we got him on his last day in the shelter. Poor thing had been abused, and he started out terrified of anything that moved, but now he'll walk up to anyone and beg for attention. When I get a dog of my own, I'll be adopting again.
