So Saddam was trying to fool Iranian intelligence to keep away an invasion but instead he accidently fooled American intelligence and got a different invasion.

What gets me is they frame the arguement as "did he have them or not?" The REAL question was DID HE INTEND TO USE THEM? People hollered SEE! SEE! We told you he had them! whenever they thought some were found. Of course NONE (of any significance) WERE EVER FOUND. But the people who planned this war already knew they weren't there unless you think our intelligence services are really as stupid as they wanted us to believe.

That's just stupid. Saddam wanted to do LOTS of things "after sanctions were lifted", but that doesn't mean he could have. Simply lifting sanctions wouldn't of allowed him to build a nuclear enrichment facility undetected. We needed to *invade* to prevent him from doing something he *wanted* to do but had no practical means of doing, and could just as easily of been prevented by keeping 1 million international inspectors there for the next 20 years, just shows how unimaginative neocons are.
