Here is a video of Canada's first F5 Tornado (upgraded from F4) taken from one mile away that severely damaged the western part of Elie, Manitoba on Friday June 22nd, 2007...the video ends with a second tornado (F3 Rated) near Oakville. This one was on the ground at the same time as the Elie tornado, but I didn't catch it until the Elie one lifted and I was driving towards Elie to see what happened there...I turned around and tried to intercept it, but it got rain-wrapped and fell apart after about 10 minutes.

  • It's still terrifying to watch.

  • I thought the f rating was judged by the wind velocity of the tornado itself, it doesn't matter how large it is. The little ones cause the most damage usually.

  • Baloonsnufsaid sure but you speaking freaking french buddy .....:) love montreal .

  • I'm glad here in Montreal we don't say 'eh' after every freaking word.

  • @BrendonR1 Actually it's not wind speed, but the amount of damage a storm does that determines it's EF rating. Obviously the two are closely related, but even a tornado with EF5 style wind speeds is not a true EF5 unless it "eats" enough. That's all irrelevant in the case of this video though, considering how obvious it is that this is not even in the ballpark of an EF5 tornado.

  • @CaptnHampton22 It's not size but wind speed that determines it

  • Cool! And scary

  • what the hell was that noise at 1:06? eh ya got a boogie caught in yer throat?

  • @hawkeyesurfer people can still get sucked in from very far away. being out in the field is actually extremely dangerous. so i'd say he was close enough.
