i'm not going away from the argument that's essentially my entire point! I guess i'll just be more clear: my point is that what you said will NEVER happen in today's society, the government is never going to physically have a gun pointed at your head! you seem to be under the belief that in some weird scenario some form of government will actually attack citizens to the point where they will need to physically defend themselves with weapons. I can't believe you don't see the absurdity in that!!

You have gone away from the argument, but I will still answer. How can your mind defend you from a gun pointed at your head? We are doing all we can to defend ourselves by using free speech, but it can only do so much against a deaf opponent. You must not understand that the second amendment is a fail safe against our government. Guns can harm people but it depends who is behind it. The ignorant will harm themselves and others, while the responsible will harm those who want to harm others.

Yes one is supposed to learn from history, I have but in today's "evolved society" there is still war, lies, and tyranny. I myself always first find ways of resolving arguments peacefully and try to get past obstacles in ways that are non-violent, but when push comes to shove, do you expect people to take it or stand up for themselves.
