Let this be a reminder to all of how truly great this country once was. It makes me smile but weep at the same time...I have always firmly believed I was born 50 years too late.

Personally I have seen engines that I think are more beautiful than 4449 but that is a matter of opinion. NSWGR's 3801 is more impressive IMHO, followed by the A4 Pacifics in the UK, then followed by 4449

Thumbs up if you think Amtrak should reinstate the Coast Daylight between San Francisco and LA. Paint the train in original Daylight Red and Orange. Add Bulldog Noses to the locomotives to make it look like the Daylights' E-9 engines. Then have SP 4449 pull the Inauguration Train!

@WorldOfNothin Southern Pacific 4449 still runs. It does not haul regular revenue passenger trains but pulls several excursions a year. check out youtube for videos!

I just discovered the song at the time and I wanted to use it in my latest video. My next video is going to feature Train Kept a Rollin by Aerosmith. So look forward to that coming. ;)
