ok much respect to this kid. I am a martial arts instructor - I teach shaolin kempo karate to kids his age & most lack the coordination & comprehension that is necessary for much of their material, let alone the determination that he exhibits. Very admirable. However, I question the wisdom of allowing someone that young to achieve a black belt. We don't allow anyone under 16 to reach that level. Also, 3 years is an awful short amount of time - minimum of 5 at our dojo.

@rydergirl94 Plus even if you are a black belt it doesn't mean you can actually utilize your skills in real life without experience. Learning all the techniques probably wouldn't take long if you trained every day but learning how to teach, deal with people, and in this day "walk away" takes much longer. Everyone is trained to fight now not to defend. MMA and UFC lol everyone thinks they're a martial artist now with a 3 year black belt lol

@rydergirl94 I agree with your dojo rules on black belts and I agree, I have a 3rd dan in Kenpo Karate mixed with elements of Chi Na, BJJ, Ju Jitsu, and Mu Du Kwan and we do the same. It's AT LEAST 5 years of training to test for your first degree and no one under 16 will be trained ( they get a red belt until they turn 16 representing dangerous knowledge) because our black belts learn confidential and most of the time deadly techniques.Maturity cannot be rushed. He is good in form though.

@LogicalReaction Well, it's like Bruce Lee said "The person matters, not the style..." Which is why I choose Karate even though I originally set out to do kung-fu, because the Sensei I found was more important than the style!

I'm 12 and a black belt in jiu jitsu. Don't mean to be rude but this is shit, all this kid is doing is a kata. Doing endless katas is pointless it does not teach you anything. Is this kid gonna be able to defend himself against a street attacker with a knife? No because he hasn't been taught too.
