http://www.firstwind.com/media_center for more First Wind videos. Community leaders and representatives from First Wind were on hand on April 30, 2009 at the Eastport Port Authority in Eastport, ME to celebrate the arrival of the cargo ship carrying the blades for the proposed 60 MW Rollins Wind project. First Wind worked with its turbine supplier to ensure that the blade shipment went through Eastport to maximize the economic benefits for the local community. Marking the first shipment to arrive in Maine, the 20 sets of blades, which are half of the 40 sets of blades needed for the project, were unloaded for transportation to the project site, which is situated in the towns of Lincoln, Burlington, Lee, Winn and Mattawamkeag. The Rollins Wind project will consist of 40 GE 1.5 MW turbines that can produce enough clean, renewable energy to power more than 23,000 homes.
