Howard Cossell and Muhammad Ali review highlights of the Thrilla in Manila between Ali and Joe Frazier in their third encounter from 1975 in the Philippines.
@HiMyNameIsRoss completely agree, foreman was so slow and looks so bad fighting and kissing the floor several times against boxers like ron lyle and jimmy young,he was a hype in the 70's era, extremely overrated when he get the crown again against a glass chin moorer
@tapiaassasin George Foreman is over rated the man was done after 5 rounds. I take Joe Frazier over him any day. I even take Liston over George any day.
Who cares if Foreman lost to Ali? He absolutely destroyed frazier twice with ease, beat several other contenders and would regain the world title in his mid 40's.And no,he wasn't ali's equal.Without even having to mention the fact he was decisively beaten in two of the three fights,Ali's resume is far superior to fraziers.
According to Eddie Futch, Frazier protested and Futch stopped the fight against Joe's wishes. Frazier never quit in any fight, but Futch , realizing that Frazier's melon was so lumped up that it could explode with one more punch, mercifully stopped the fight.
@tapiaassasin George Foreman in no way was ever better then Joe Frazier. STYLES MAKE FIGHTS. Foreman beat Frazier but lost to Ali. Frazier beat Ali! Always remember, Ali lost to the best Joe Frazier he ever faced. The 73 and 75 were just shades of Joe that was washed up. His cataracts have clouded his vision up to 50% and his high blood pressure and diabetes made it hard for his career to whether much longer. Joe Frazier was better then Foreman and was Ali"s equal.
Frazier certainly did quit otherwise he would have actually some type of protest when the fight was stopped. He didnt and willingly allowed his trainer to stop the fight for him.Cant blame,he was getting his ass kicked and behind on points and on the verge of possibly being knocked out.
And if you genuinely believe that frazier, the third greatest heavyweight of his era behind foreman and ali,is truly "the greatest",you surely aren't educated about the sport of boxing.
Oh man. So much respect for Ali.

@tapiaassasin what??? Frazier and quit can't be in the same phrase ...it should be illegal. Frazier had the less quit attitude in boxing history.
