----------------------------
The first part of the three-episode journey through the Solar System. Visit the Sun and the four inner planets - Mercury, Venus, Earth and Mars.

Part 2: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uHyWPDBubvM
Part 3: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xf3E3TbiqoM

This is my biggest project to date. It took me more than 3 months to do it all. All sizes and distances of planets and their moons are correct.

All visuals done in Blender v2.49.
Planet textures from: celestiamotherlode.net, planetpixelemporium.com and NASA's Blue Marble.

Free music from: Music4YourVids.co.uk
Composed by rickvanman.

Huge thanks to Josh Lawrence/moviemaker933 for narrating.

Enjoy, comments and criticism are welcome.

  • um correction pls but Mercury is a fast planet not slow it is named mercury because mercury i think is a god with wings on his feet and the is fast thats why it Mercury is fast not a slo rotator

pls dont be angy just trying to help...

  • @saraffina1

First: ancient mythologies are pretty irrelevant in astronomy.

Second: you're confusing days with years. It's true that Mercury completes an orbit around the Sun in little under 3 months but meanwhile its axial rotation is very slow. It rotates once per 58 Earth days. Orbit and rotation are different things.

  • Did you do all the animations for this ? What software did you use, and how much does it cost ?

I think this is really great !

By the way, what fabaresremix said re rolling the top frequencies to make the voice cut through is correct.

    Good work

  • @Contrapunctus1

All of this was done in Blender 3D, which is 100% free software.

And yes, I'll keep in mind to roll off the high frequencies next time I do something that includes narration.

  • Quite a lot of your info is not correct, and i wonder why all these guys who make it their business to record suche work do not bother to first train for proper narration

the result is kind of sinister

  • @marieziggy

I can't obviously afford Liam Neeson to narrate something for me so unfortunately you'll have to put up with this.

I know there are some mistakes here and there but not 'quite a lot'. Care to explain that in more detail?

  • Great job!!! Cant believe people come on here and complain. Id be proud to have put this together. Thanks to the uploader....

Kinda funny that people believe someone or something waved a magic wand and created our universe. Id like to know who created this so called creator. We are merely star dust in a very random universe. In the grand scheme of things we are a grain of sand in the known universe of at least 78 billion light years across....
