This is a 599 GTB doing 3 laps at Road America. The audio is low (sorry - new camera, was on wrong setting) so you'll have to crank the volume and put on headphones to appreciate the F1 SuperFast gearbox (it's worth it). The video starts in turn 14 under yellow (the green flag is at 0:18) and ends in turn 1 after three laps. This is a track event with amateur enthusiasts (not a race) so passing is only on the straights and only when the driver being overtaken gives a "wave-by". You'll notice I ease up a couple times - that's why. I could brake later and harder going into the corners, but it's not my car so I erred on the side of caution. The 599 GTB Fiorano is a 6-liter, V12, 48 valve, 612HP monster that does 0-60 mph in under 4 seconds and has a top speed over 200 mph. If you have the means, I highly recommend picking one up. On the start/finish straight I get it over 150, touching 160 on some laps, and that's without ever really taking turn 14 correctly. You'll notice I pass a few cars - that's more a reflection of the equipment and not necessarily the drivers. Most of them are in slower cars. Road America is a classic road course in Elkhart Lake, WI, just over 4 miles long, with rolling topography and a variety of straights and curves. You can check it out at www.roadamerica.com. Many thanks to the Ferrari Club of America, Hooked on Driving and Martin and John for their pointers and to the many event sponsors: David MacNeil and the folks at WeatherTech, Pirelli tires, Hagerty insurance, Tubi exhaust, and others. Thanks also to all the staff and volunteers who helped make it a great event.
Thanks for the kudos... Great time, nice video, thanks for sharing! - Rob w/ Hooked On Driving
