@Futballplayer I'm not so sure. This is just my opinion, but I don't know if it would have been a deffinete win for the Commies. Philly, besides the Bully mentality, had skill. And alot of it. It deffinetly would have been closer then 4-1, but I wouldn't go with a deffinete win for either team.

For those of u who don't get #1: just before the refs were skating around they went and got drunk off their ass (which explains the bad skating) but the coach was suspended and didn't want to leave so the refs got drunk and things went on from there

@nicxtrem21 The Ref's refused to referee the game, so they got 2 random-ass guys to do it. Who apparantly didn't know too much about Refereeing.

There are plenty of big strong Russian NHL players. They're used to the NHL and play well. In the 70's Russians came from a game where they played on bigger rinks,had more space to utilize their technique and skill. They never played in the rough conditions of the smaller more physical rinks. Phili was a dirty team, the Russian roster wasn't prepared for a game like that. I don't blame them for using a gameplan like that because if they weren't allowed to play dirty they would've lost.
