sorry mate, I didn't mean, if"you" were big business, I was generalizing the point that government is "run" and managed by big business, and very possibly mob forces . Any decisions made will probably be tilted in their favour, including space bs. the people are a very distant concern , if any concern at all. Our local newspaper is suggesting that mob companies are involved in government contracts , and the politicians won't even give a reply or comment. Space contracts should be no different

Impossible for it to be profitable without a large amount of our tax dollars allocated. A lot of things from the space program ARE hi tech ,but we would probably survive just fine without them , spy sattelites gps guided missles etc, I would trade in my cel phone, tv with 160 channels of nothing, cnn and it's biased ,bad news, for a more low tech peaceful world in a heartbeat. it,s about more than just profits isn,t it? At least I hope so, unless you are big business.

I'd say that it is wishfull thinking.

In any case, to say that the space program is a waste is to be ignorant of the technology it has delivered to us. There's probably a couple dozen items in your house right now that came from research at the space program. Windbreakers to name one.

talk about oversimplification , A lot of people are employed keeping the big war machine fighting and killing and dying(our kids too) Does that make it right?? they could be just as busy ,or busyier, working on the planets problems, pollution starvation greed corruption famine floods fires etc, there should be a lot of ethical jobs, if the government didn,t have it's head so far up it's ass wasting our futures, you should use the f word more selectively, you shouldn,t jut go around saying fu
