Steve Perry "Friends Of Mine"

This is a song that can be found off the For The Love Of Strange Medicine Remasters. It's from 1988 so I am guessing it is one of the tracks that were to be on the "Against The Wall" album that was shelved by Sony.


This is the first of two versions that I am creating. The first one is a picture montage for Steve Perry and all his friends. The second one is to all my friends which I shall have that video up as soon as I can.

I almost met SP in 1981 after a concert but he wouldn't talk to me. I later on heard that on tour he wouldn't speak after shows until the next day's sound check to preserve his voice, so it's okay. He saved it all for the shows.

yeah I have hear those stories. He would seclude himself after concerts. Smart thinking on his part but the press didnt like that too much I'm sure.

What a great song, bluesy and funky with a positive message. And the vocal interlude after the first chorus (wa oh woah etc.) is simply great singing period. How could Sony have passed on this - what were they thinking?  Oh well, better late than never.
