In this inspirational second discussion, Lt. General Van Riper articulates three leadership styles and argues that the best leaders are strong, confident leaders who listen to advice of others. The best leaders never stop learning and cast their net widely. He believes that clear intent is important for an organization to understand so that it can be in command and out of control. He advocates that individuals who keep their character fit; "physically, mentally, morally, and spiritually will be enabled to perform in any organization or business."

  • This is one of the best vidoe segments on leadership that I have ever seen!

I am a consultant and trainer whose area of exertise is leadership. These vidoe segments are tops! In just six and a half short minutes Lt. General Van Riper teaches the essentials of leadership. He says more in 6 minutes than many say in a whole book. If he has a class I am signing up! If he does have a book I am buying it.

    Excellent job!

Thank you 82abhilash for posting this.

  • You welcome.

  • I have another series, 'How to be in command and out of control'. It is just audio. You may like that too.

  • Awesome!

It crosses time and industry boundaries, and beautifully practical.

Thank you. I needed this like yesterday!

  • Whoa, thanks for uploading this, 82abhilash!

I'd had a great respect for Van Riper ever since I read about his achievements in the 2002 Millenium Challenge, but I didn't know he was so eloquent.
