Sunchunck To Sing God Bless America at Fenway Park
Sunchunck, a powerpop rock band based near Boston, MA, today announces their upcoming appearance at Fenway Park this season on July 10th during the Boston Red Sox vs. Baltimore Orioles game.
Sunchunck is comprised of three members: Mike Bertolami, bass and vocals; John Catino, guitar and vocals; and Brett Manoloff, drums. Formed in 2002, Sunchunck creates original music with positive messages, and has played "God Bless America" at every live show since the band's inception.
"The band is very excited to perform at Fenway ... as a kid playing ball I always dreamed about making it to Fenway Park but, I never thought it would be as a musician. We are thrilled to work with a class organization like the Boston Red Sox and appreciate the teams support," said Bertolami
This announcement is yet another indication that the band and its efforts are taking off and getting noticed. The bands rendition of "God Bless America" has been: Aired by the New England Patriots / Gillette Stadium Game Day entertainment; Performed at LaLacheur Park, home of the Lowell Spinners; Aired on WAAF 107.3FM, WHEB 100.3 FM, WXRV 92.5FM; And asked to be part of a compilation CD project - for the Kevin Youkilis foundation, "Youk's Kids". The band was also featured and interviewed on HOOAH!! Radio - streamed to our troops overseas.
Recently the band launched their "Help Our Troops - Donations Through Downloads" initiative, currently donating proceeds from downloads of its famed rendition of "God Bless America" to charities that support American soldiers. This is the latest philanthropic effort from the group, which is committed to giving back to its community and country.
Although the band's recorded rendition is a revved up rock version, the band has been asked and will sing "God Bless America" acapella.
