Fourth Annual Ecorse Good Neighbor Day
State Senator Ray Basham (D-Taylor) hosted the Fourth Annual Ecorse Good Neighbor Day on Saturday, June 23, 2007. This collaborative project united residents, community organizations, corporations and organized labor to positively impact the City of Ecorse. "While Ecorse continues to face many challenges, its residents have a great passion, commitment and desire to revitalize their city," said Basham. "Over the past three years we've worked to make many appreciable changes throughout the community and that has positively impacted us all." All residents and community members were encouraged to participate by taking time to clean an area of the city or by helping residents that are in need. Volunteers painted and repaired homes, picking up litter and planting flowers around the city.
