YMCA of Middle TN USYDC Y-Build/Youthbuild Video

Y-Build/Youthbuild is a 9-month residential program, funded by the US Department of Labor as part of the Youthbuild Affiliated Network, that provides young men from urban backgrounds education and career preparation.

This is accomplished through training in the construction industry, job placement, character and leadership development, along with academic and life skills development.

This video, produced by Rob McDonald, gives an overview of the program from the recruitment phase through graduation from the eyes of the staff and the participants.

About Rob McDonald
ROB MCDONALD- Director, Cinematographer, and Editor , a graduate of the Art Institute of Atlanta, studied under renowned photographer Ansel Adams. McDonald subsequently founded The Maryland Group, the fourth largest advertising agency in Nashville, TN and steered its helm for almost two decades. There he developed award winning campaigns for national brands such as Charter Communications, winning the cable industry's highest accolades, The Mark Award, for best advertising campaign. McDonald left the advertising business to pursue a career as a filmmaker in order to focus on human interest stories that preserve history and change lives.
