Overnight ferry from Pha Ngan island to Surat Thani in Thailand

Going from Ko Pha Ngan to Phuket.
This ferry took us from Thong Salaa to Surat Thani.
If I had to pick a moment in my life when the likelihood of getting kidnapped by pirates was at its highest, this night would have been the night.

The captain was a total pirate, and kept signalling hidden boats with a torch.

We then caught a bus across the country to Krabi - Where 'The Beach' was filmed. Amazing.

how much does it cost on the over night ferry ? can you get a sleeping cabin ?

@Mojomoonster I cant for the life of me remember the price. It wasn't bad though. And yes you can pay more for a bed, but its not a private cabin, its just a mattress. And if you're going during peak times, the beds sell out quickly, so get in early.

FM----thank god I saw this clip. I was thinking of taking the (car) night ferrie to Koh Samui. Is there a 'Sardine Class' for cars? Really-no cabins?! Great clip.
