*Always wear eye protection when shooting* This gun is an affordable clone of a Colt 1911. It's made in the Philippines. After a break-in of 100 rounds or so, it shoots flawlessly, even with $10 mil-spec magazines. It's shooting a little high, which I will remedy with a file and a bench rest in the near future. I started at 20 yards, then moved closer.

  • Thank you, sir. The cheap mags are called "Checkmate," $10.95 at my local gun shop, but they have a thin metal buttplate, and I wanted some that had the thicker plastic one like the original, and bought a couple of PowerMag by Chip McCormick. The cheap ones were reluctant to slip into place at first. They caused most of the original malfunctions, but no longer. They are also only 7-round, where the PowerMag is 8.

  • It takes a real man can pull off a pipe

  • This seems to be a great gun. A buddy of mine has it and my dad got to shoot it out at his ranch and he's been drooling over it ever since. He likes how simple and accurate it is. I decided to get it for him for Christmas and he has no idea yet. P.S. the guys at the shop where i bought the ATI said to only use 8 round mags. I guess it doesn't like the 7 round mags

  • how can somebody turn down a chance to shoot stuff?!?!?!?!?!?! personal preference i guess

  • can this gun shoot the +p ammo without any problems or injury

  • nice shooting, i also own an ATI FX45 1911M it is a great firearm for the price i bought it from Budsgunshop before he raised the price to a little over 400 about 390 shipped.

also fires HP's nicely as well make sure they are the 230g

i have had no problem with the Winchester 230g JHP's

    happy safe shooting.
