This isn't a martial art at all. Just XMA bullshit. But to answer your question, it might be a broad description. Like I study Kajukenbo Tum Pai, but we call it kung fu and learn katana. Kajukenbo Tum Pai is a hybrid art so we kinda learn everything.

one thing which always confuses me is why a Kung fu academy (Chinese) would you a katana (japanese) sword...wouldnt it make more sence to use a jian sword or something else of that nature...probably me nit picking but it has always struck me as strange when i see things like this
