How far or how fast do stars move? We are asked this question often at our astronomy science camps. This is a one hour video made from a DSLR taking one image per minute for 60 minutes. The stars move 15 degrees per hour, or roughly the width of your hand with fingers spread held at arms length.

The streaks of light are jet airplanes; there is one small meteor in one of the images so watch fast. The sky is getting light at the end as the moon is rising.

Astronomers; I know the earth is moving and not the stars , , , ,
