When you're kids (assuming you are fertile enough to produce a zygote) grow up with lung cancer, poverty, age marks, and a raspy voice remember that they are the "kids in America." Of course then again they'd be low lives just like their premarital teenage divorced parents.

Disturbing.

First, I've had the song for years and every time I played it I thought guys sang it (like some 14 yro kid).

Second, teaching the "Kids of America" that smoking is what we do is wrong and immoral. Don't promote underage smoking.

Muffs sucked, Kim did good, but I still love LEN the most.

Their cover of "Kids In America", originally by Kim Wilde, was used in the soundtrack for the movie Clueless in 1995 and reissued later on their 2000 album Hamburger, as well as being used in Rock Band 2

Kim's version came out in 1981 - way before any other - plus, the original is sooo much better - cutting edge and I love electronica!!!

@LRocker509

Sorry to break it to you, but the Kim Wilde version is indeed the original version, released in the early 80's. I actually prefer The Muffs' version, but...facts are facts.
