Its obvious the driver took off when confronted by authorities. No matter what, he broke the law. Embellishing the charges was a matter of perspective. In this suspect's escape, it sure looked like he scarcely missed the officer on foot and the officer in the vehicle. Those both can be construed as assault while you are eluding police. Other than blocking off the entire parking lot entrance, I didn't see what provoked the frantic pursuit.

Ok..this was 2009. So how did he fare at the criminal trial of the officer for filing a false report? Or did he have the hutspa to proceed with it?

So unfortunate that it is no longer innocent until proven guilty. All the proof they need is an officers word. Hopefully juries no longer take the word of some pathetic corrupt little pig.
