Just fyi, Wichita FD, now calls this apparatus "Truck"
and there is a "Q" on almost all of the fire apparatus that Wichita has.

That's a beautiful rig!

They introduced the F550 (squad truck) many years back to run medicals and small grass fires to cut down on mileage. Since the squads are being used so much, now the Engines, Quints, and AP's aren't getting enough miles put on them. What sucks is, getting an AP and a MEDTEC Ambulance in and out of a neighborhood with narrow streets without running into something. If the dispatcher is thinking and a squad and AP are equidistant from a medical, they're supposed to send the squad.
