  • do i need to heat it up ??

  • You don't have to, but it helps open up the pores in the metal a little bit.

  • iraqveteran, and reason why i shouldnt blue my sks bolt carrier?

i am in the process of reblueing my norinco 1911 as i post this.

  • @KommandoOver9000

You can blue it if you want. No reason other than keeping things original. Personally, I don't think it would hold up well on high traffic areas.

  • does this work on paper?

  • @binboyuk it will not

  • Some welding magnets glued to sticks can help you handled them while they are hot. All you vids are great and I'm learning a lot. Keep em' comin'.

  • Do you think that this would work on a carbon steel knife blade?

  • Thank you for the videos! My dad gave me my grandfather's old Springfield Model 84 C- and I am going to completely refinish the stock and metal parts. It's actually in fairly good shape, and my dad refinished it years ago. But it sat in a closet for some years without any love and rusted to hell again.

  • IV8888 you have inspired me so I will be working on my VZ 24 and my Mosin Nagant 91/30 this winter. Very good vid instructions for my new hobby.

  • @Iraqveteran8888 I agree.. makes it go a little faster... you can use boiling water and try with a towel to get it hot.

  • does this work on aluminum ?

  • @Iraqveteran8888 Any Idea where I can find a stock for the 1893 Mauser, Just bought one from Barrow Automotive and it has been Bubba'd up really bad.

  • After you heat and Blue do you rinse? Was not sure? or do you just wait and re heat and re blue - Thanks!
