High speed Magnetic levitation (Maglev) trains operate commercially only in three places in the world today. Shanghai is one of them. I was fortunate enough to ride this train in Shanghai which covers a distance of 30 kilometers in just 7 minutes and 20 seconds giving it an average speed of 250 kilometers per hour. The train has a maximum speed of 431 kilometers per hour. The video shows the speed of the train digitally displayed inside the passenger cars. Shanghai's Maglev train runs from the outskirts of central Pudong to Pudong International Airport.

  • Please add this Maglev 2000 system to your site.

  • @masndy That was indeed a very fascinating experience. Also note, currently only 3 Asian countries have these trains. England and Germany had them in the past but both countries discontinued them because of operational problems. Shanghai is running these trains since 2004!
