*I edited this on After Effects CS5. I set my Canon T2i Rebel to 60fps, that way when I slowed it down, it still had a smooth picture. The song is "Ask the Lonely" by Journey, the 3rd greatest song of all-time. Thanks for watching!

  • :D:D awesome vid :D:D

I'm not a professional or anything, but one thing I like to do is set my explosion footage to some kind of blending mode, like "screen" or "add"...it will blend them into the scene better!;)

  • @TheJosephwayne Thanks for the advice!! I'll be sure to do that next time!

  • @BEAST8446 Dude... I'm still loving this. Epic.

  • @DPepicelli Haha well thanks!

  • @BEAST8446

Oh... Well damn, for your first time with After Effects, you did pretty well!

  • @DPepicelli Haha this was my first time with After Effects, I really had no idea what I was doing! But ya it's just a funny video I did with my friends. And Ask The Lonely is up there on my list too!

  • Oh man do I feel so stupid right now. This obviously wasn't supposed to be taken seriously, right? Next time I'll watch the entire video before making assumptions...

I would suggest to add an adjustment layer (Layer > Adjustment Layer), use the pen tool to make a mask covering the person firing the gun and the muzzle flash, change the input/output white under Color Correction > Levels, and bring the feathering up on the mask, to make the flashes look a bit more realistic.

    Anyway, nice job.

  • The flashes could have been done better, but nice job nonetheless.

Even though the song choice doesn't really fit, Ask The Lonely is one of my favorite Journey songs, so I give you a thumbs up!
