I don't dislike car drivers (I do dislike bad drivers) but I do sometimes feel sorry for them.

See if you can spot the 2 "interesting" manoeuvres from my fellow road users.

  • This used to be part of my commute until recently, can't remember seeing it that congested though. What amazes me is that they subject themselves to this day after day, week after week. I'd lose the will to live.

  • @Tradescant58 Yeah, it's not normally this busy. There's another road closed and traffic is being diverted through Ewell.

  • what city is this ?

  • @ardenro not really a city. A very small town in the UK called Ewell.

  • interesting? That was just a ploy to make me waste 2 min 44 secs of my life yeah???

haha...errm, the "i'm not even going to bother" u-turn?? Why so much traffic? I really couldn't be bothered to sit in that. Why I cycle tooo!!!

  • @thomase1 the grey car trying to force its way out at 1:36 and the motorcycle running a red light at 2:07.

  • I saw quite a few interesting items.

0:38: a van parked transversely to the road. There was plenty of room for him to swing left and then right so as to line up in the right direction.

1:21: Some odd looking gentleman trying to cross the road in front of the bike with complete ignorance to your intentions.

0:33 & 1:21: Two white van drivers who have no idea what the white line in the middle of the road is for (I hate white van drivers)

  • haha, and this is why I motorcycle - same advantages but easier :D

  • I wonder how many of those cars have one person in them.

They're likely to think that cyclists slow them down (for about 5 seconds), when the real problem is single occupancy cars.

Do you think that any of these people would consider a bike, or a motorcycle, which is a much more sensible option?

  • @specallez I don't think there's much alternative. It's a residential area, and clearly the road was designed for horses. I think they should probably make it one way.

It's not normally this busy - there's a diversion due to another road being closed in the area.

  • What is wrong with our planners ? Why would you put designated parking bays on such narrow congested roads ?

  • @ardenro London
