April is hot holiday month in Thailand and many camps are organized for school children. There is always an emphasis on learning English but not in the classroom. There are lots of games, songs, maybe excursions. Always Sanook, Thai for fun.
Students and volunteers learn Thai culture, dancing, Thai boxing, sword fighting. Volunteers teach English and students study other subjects with local teachers. Volunteers and local staff stay at the camp site. Volunteers get a true immersion into Thai northeast culture with a camp leader, Kiednarong, who is a real lover and expert on Thai culture. Volunteers can go wild elephant trekking in Phu Wua, not far away in their free time. The camp end s with a culture show, where students and volunteers show what they learnt to hundreds of parents
