the auto clear will be thinner, but still look great, I'll experiment with 2 or 3 coats to thicken it up.
good luck, nice techniques you have.

various lacquer and glossy coats will work, but that auto clear is smooth and glossy. no paint strokes w/ the HVLP sprayer. anyway, do a test and take it to a car painter and see if they clear it for a couple of bucks. at the end of a spray they will have extra usually, they mix with extra when they spray. theyll have plenty to spare.

well im into all kinds of various art techniques. and recently took a concrete countertop expo course. fun stuff, great 'spray pigment marble techniques'. but...anyway...they used an epoxy resin, (like a bartop) for the coating, very thick, glossy. but it does yellow over time. so Ive been experimenting with my HVLP sprayer and will be using automotive clear, like the last coat they put on your car. obviously it has UV resistance, because Ive never seen a good car paint go yellow.
Thanks very much for your detailed response. Very helpful, I will definitely experiment!
