@bushcraftkid6622 yes your 100% right the increse in heat is negligible without a pipe to give evey bit of air power... i do the same thing with a pipe with charcoal and an array of heat proof bricks and a steal crucible i can melt copper it looks white hot infact i burnt my face the other day just from the radiant heat just off the molton metal not even getting to close to the furnce i use a air bed pump for mine a hair dryer sues to much elcectrcity give it a go cheap project and fun as fook

This forge should be great for bending smallish diameter metal I would expect. Possibly even good for joining a piece or two in a pinch. definately make a great emergency forge for doing a down and dirty fix to get your butt out of trouble.

What can you make in it?

can you melt aluminium or bronze with this forge??

your doing one thing wrong with the hair dryer... you have to eliminate the loss of force between the can and the hair dryer with a pipe and seal it
It can be even simpler than that. Just a length of fence pipe or swingset leg. Plug one end and lay it flat on the ground. Make some holes in one side for the tuyere and then build up your mud around it like a bowl. Let the mud dry a bit and then lite a fire. Works great. You are on the right track, son - don't let any of these critics give you a hard time. :-)
