  • @soeMedb Turks are scientifically classified in turanid type of white race(caucasoid/europid). Proto kyrgises and kazaks were white as the other turks. Then, they turned to mongoloid type because they mixed of mongols and Mongoloid genes are dominant.Even %20 mongoloid genes are enough to change all faces to mongoloid in a few centuries. For example, it is written in some historical sources, kyrgizes were white and wavy red-haired only in 6th century. However the other turks are still caucasoid.

  • TL;DR: Turks are Eurasian. So am I. We've been neighbors and occasional relatives for at least 5000 years so far.

  • Notes, ctd: The Sumerian language and people originated as a combination of 4 unrelated peoples:

    Wetland fisherfolk related to the Vietnamese;

    Coastal and hill tribes related to the Tamil, Kannarese, et al;

    Mountain valley farmers of uncertain origin, possibly related to the Armenians;

    Akkadian herdsman nomads (the Akkadians are Afroasiatic people from Syria, native to the Rift Valley, whose language resembled Arabic and Hebrew. Their origin is likely African).

  • Notes on some comments above: the Etruscan language was similar or identical to that of Lydia. Neither shows much resemblance to any other language. the modern Korean language shows strong influence from at least 3 unrelated languages, one of which was Altaic and may in fact have been Mongolian (the Mongolian language is as close as you can get to a centerpoint among Altaic languages). (tbc...)

  • ... (ctd) You can find Mongolic Turks on the Ordos plateau neighboring a basically Iranian looking people in Shaanxi, who neighbored a redheaded (though originally black) Wusun people in Western Shaanxi, who neighbored the blonde Rouzhi=Yuezhi=Tocharians even farther West in Shaanxi and throughout Xinjiang, all in the same period of time. All are commonly referred to as having been Turkic.

    Scythians, Aryans, and my own ancestors are later relatives of the displaced Wusun and Tocharii.

  • ... (ctd) This shows a general picture of a strong Turkic culture neighboring, trading with and sometimes dominating several unrelated peoples. My own extraction is a mix of Indo-European (mostly Germanic and Scythian) with aboriginal Western European peoples; at least one of the Turkic peoples near the Altay spoke the Indo-European language Tocharian at the time. The IE languages all show strong early Turkic influence, as if they had spent some time subject to early Turks in central Asia...

  • Wikipedia is helpful here.

    I am limited to the English language in my response. My knowledge is mostly from the perspective of a lay linguist, so things very unrelated to that may be grossly inaccurate. That being said, some things in these comments stand out to my eye.

    Maybe 2000 to 3000 BCE, there were 4 or more dissimilar races in the area of the Altay mountains. The languages they spoke are all considered to be basically Turkic. hm, out of space in this post... tbc
