  • How the west was won is definitly the best western movie trough all times. I just love it. Shown it to some friends and they too love it.

The scene with the buffalos is magestic!!!! one of the greatset scene ever, considering that they didn´t use computers and blue screens.

    Cinerama rules!

  • @xtraman25 Just don't take any guff from the Jewish swine, as they will try to turn it into a transformers movie set in the west.

  • @itkapatanka no

  • It's so weird to see the trailer and here music from other westerns, and not the legendary score composed for the film by Alfred Newman. His music was probably still being mixed at the time the trailer was distributed, but still ... the scenes don't have the same puch as when backed by his beautiful compositions. I LOVE this soundtrack - right up there with Elmer Bernstein's Magnificent 7 and Jerome Moross' The Big Country. These are the three great western scores, in my opinion.

  • Much of this movie was filmed right here where I'm from. Cave In Rock Illinois on the beautiful Ohio river. There are some awesome stories that were left out of the movie about the river pirates but a film can only be so long. The locals still talk about how great the cast was to them. Especially Jimmy Stewart. There were a couple incidents where cast members barely escaped with their life. I'm seriously considering writing a book on the the whole thing.

  • @xtraman25 Making a remake of a "Perfect" film is near impossible. Look at the history of all the remakes. They rarely compare with or improve on the original. Use your imagination and create a film of your own.

  • A very cool post! Thank. 1. I don't think the scene of people applauding Peck kissing Reynolds is included in the final cut. 2. Harry Morgan gives the best portrayal of U.S. Grant ever filmed but isn't even mentioned here (shown, however). 3. George Peppard does not distinguish himself in this film, IMO, belying MGM's hopes for him to be the next Henry Fonda. 4. Richard Widmark is superb in this film. 5. The studio seemed to think the raft sequence was totally exciting; not so.

  • @xtraman25 yes good luck, but please tell a more truthful account of the native peoples...perhaps re name it 'How The West Was Stolen'.

  • @xtraman25 if u can make a remake fella fair play , who am i too say no lol so best of luck and get it done lol
