In this video, you learn how to use the UML features of the IDE to create a simple UML class diagram. You then use the code generation and reverse engineering features to develop a simple banking application, which you can test by executing a test class. This banking application is greatly simplified; a real model for an application of this type would require more detail. The purpose of this tutorial is to introduce some of the IDE's UML features, not to teach you about UML concepts or the Java programming language..

  • if you got the newest version of netbeans you have to add some extra plugin sources in order to download and install this uml plugin

  • The UML plugin for the NetBeans IDE is available for version 6.7 and earlier releases. Since 6.8 NetBeans doesn't provide this plug-in.

    the concept of uml is not "simply dragging a box", uml stands for "unified moddeling language", it's not only used in it but throughout the entire business world :).

    you can use uml-schemes to explain how you do something to someone that hardly knows what you're talkin bout.

    Plus !, you can generate entire classes using uml schemes in netbeans ;).
