In this video, Luskin explains how modern day heroes and villains match closely with favorite characters from Ayn Rand's classic novels Atlas Shrugged and The Fountainhead. Luskin features:

Steve Jobs as Howard Roark
John Allison as John Galt
Bill Gates as Hank Rearden
Barney Frank as Wesley Mouch
Paul Krugman as Ellsworth Toohey

  • Just watched Atlas Shrugged. I am going to read the book.

  • Somebody needs to explain to Dan Luskin that Galt's Gulch is not a haven for pirates like Jobs, Gates, and Druckerberg

  • @blueandluna I should have been more specific. Forgive me on that. What I should have said is that both sides use the same tactics to achieve their own goals whatever it is. However, being closer to the truth I think is to evaluate as many sources on the story whatever it may be and for the individual to come up with a conclusion.

  • @blueandluna far from it. it's the same as any other news source.

  • Bill Gates is a socialist

  • Great August, 2007 article by Donald Luskin where he calls the beginning of the subprime mess a "buying opportunity." Here's another Donald Luskin gem: "If things are so bad, then how come people aren't being thrown out of work?"

The name of the article is "Stock Pullback is Buying Opportunity, Not Meltdown."

  • What would Ayn Rand think of Mark Zuckerberg, Steve Jobs, Bill Gates, Barney Frank or Paul Krugman? Ask John Galt.... I mean Don Luskin! Thanks for writing this awesome book about modern day Randian heroes and villiains. Loved it!
