Blender 3D is an open source software that you can download for free, this tutorial will show you an easy way to model the mouth area on a head mesh model. Very easy to learn for beginners.

  • how can you cut only one face using c.t.r.l-R ?

  • @gurikasemit You might find the tutorial I recently did on using the knife tool helpful, it'll show how to do this. HTH

  • Your tutorials have greatly helped me, just from watching your videos for just over an hour I can already model a human head! I would definitely recommend your videos to anyone who wished to start 3D modelling (:

  • @NiCKDR0iD Thanks a bunch, appreciate it very much!

  • I have spent the last few weeks getting to know the blender interface and I must say that your tutorials are by far the clearest and well laid out. I learned so much do to the fact as you move from one point to another you continually reiterate the keyboard moves and their functions. Again thank you for taking the time to show us how to work in the blender environment with such ease.

  • @LCMichaels And thank you for the feedback, it helps me to know if how I'm explaining things makes sense...I try, happy to hear it's been helpful :^))

  • @lodgefire yw, glad it helped

  • Thanks for making these tutorials, it took weeks to get this project going, then when I found your tutorial everything got faster and, more importantly, simpler.

  • @ThisBeYourFriend Try selecting one edge, hold shift add the other edges around the mouth to make the loop manually - sometimes depending on your mesh the loops will follow other edges/verts/faces; once you make the first manual loop and extrude and scale it you should be able to make edge loops/face loops around the mouth HTH

  • @vscorpianc Every time I try to make a horizontal cut, the loop goes around the head instead of round the face, down the neck, it does the same thing when I try to make a loop cut for around the mouth, am I doing something wrong?
