Great old airplane. They were one of the main factors in winning WWII. RN

@amazonaviatrix I know this is controversial, but my dad taught me to land the DC-3 in 3-point. Years later I had the chance to fly the DC-3 for a couple of weeks and I was the "odd man out" in the crews. It just feels right to get the tail down on approach. You're not gonna stall it, especially in ground effect (which is huge with the '3).

Wow, perfect landing. Not a lot of extra room if speed and touchdown aren't exact. Great piloting.

Agree with others that this is a great video.

Nope, not even close. The viewpoint of the camera, with no depth perception, only makes it look that way. It can really fool you. Take a look at one of the videos made from the ground, and you will see what I mean.

Dan Gryder, owner of this DC-3, is an airline pilot and flight instructor. You can fly with him and get a type-rating to be either a solo pilot or first officer in a DC-3. His home base/flight school is in Griffin, Georgia. Pilot Getaways magazine did a story on him and this aircraft in their Sept/Oct 2007 issue
