Because the most recent entries of the FF series have taken away from classic FF. Arguably, FFX was the last FF to keep the classic gameplay elements. I mean FFXI was online and handled like an action game

hopefully they have learned from their mistakes in FF and will keep tomb raider atleast a little like it is now

Square Enix games suck, because they can't just take the good things from past games and build on that for the next generation.

Turn-based (active time or not), and an amazing story. Take that and just update the graphics for next-gen. That's ALL they need to do. But, instead they fire or alienate all the people from FF and Chrono, then they change the gameplay completely. Just for the sake of being "new and inventive". Making some bastard mix of MMO-and Action. If I want MMO, I'll play WoW.

I have played a demo for FFXIII (if you get the japanese Blu-Ray of Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children it comes with a 2-hour or so long demo of FFXIII) and I can tell you without a doubt that FFXIII is going to be absolutely epic.

I've played 7,8,X and Dirdge of Cyberus. So this is a legit question, why does everyone say the FF games are crap now? Because the one's I've played where really good and I was considering getting XIII but I'm on the fence.

Square Enix bought Tomb Raider...well, there goes that game. They're going to try and make each one radically different and "inventive" or whatever crap they say to try and justify how badly they have messed up the Final Fantasy games.

They just won't be able to let the game be, and just polish it off and fix all the glitches to make it near perfect. They'll say the classic gameplay is "old" and "dated" and needs to be freshened up.
