Marian Anderson was a great singer , but i know her heart is asking where the freedom in this country at this time. While black was getting murders by white in the south for saying the wrong things. Her singing was one step amoung many asking where is freedom. Her singing i hope open some hearts and made them think

Yes, an amazing contralto sound when she used that range, but she had an enormous range; notice the pitch of this song; right in the soprano register. She was of course an admirable singer and woman for many reasons other than her enormous range.

Marian is the Mother of Black America. Her voice strengthens the marrow of one's bones.

This was a decisive moment in the history of black artists in the USA. Marian Anderson was such a great human, as well as artist. I find it very difficult that one can find another singer so deeply respectable and admirable. And then she had that amazing and gentle contralto voice. Brava!
Es imposible mirar este video sin sentir la más profunda emoción, no sólo por el aspecto histórico del evento, sino por la dignidad y talento de esta gran artista.
