The movie shows the rising of a artificial stable wave in a test channel. An obstacle under water rises and the river starts to wave on place. A surfer can be held in the deep point in the wave and will not be flooded away. Check out the project of artificial river waves at www.limmatwave.ch

  • actually it'll probly be better in a river... much smoother than using water jets

  • they should just have something like this in a river instead of creating flow riders.. less electricity used and just as good

  • Wonderful experiment!

  • No, this is a stationary wave. You can read this paper, "The Form of Standing Waves on the Surface of Running Water".
