@driver648 Most are dumbasses when it comes to handling a large vehicle. The ones who really crack me up are the ones who act like billy bigrigger badasses but are stupid, fat, and smelly.

@Organphantomjd I have driven Thomas and Bluebird buses and none of them I've driven had the red lights configured so that you'd have to have the door open for the red lights to activate. I never read the description that this was in Canada, but I can tell you what the laws are for my state, where I drive and how my bus is set up. If you read my comment carefully, I said "You should put your red warning lights on AT LEAST a '100 feet before a red light stop." Obviously '300 is better.

@TREVOR1900 You obviously don't drive a school bus. It's 100 to 300 feel that yellow lights are on. The red lights do not activate until the door switch is changed until open. The dangerous part is the driver NOT taking the time to check her mirrors after her passenger pickup to ensure that there are no children in her death and danger zones around the bus.

You should put your red warning lights on at least a '100 feet before a red light stop. I don't know why they show the driver using the yellows first. That's really not necessary and it's actually kind of dangerous. It's in the DMV handbook, look it up.

While they drive those huge school buses in all kinds of weather conditions they also have to keep an eye on the children who are bounces and standing and fighting and whatever else kids do and parents you know what I am talking about. Well the bus driver has all the kids on their bus doing all the same things and they are driving through some of the worst roads and road repairs and pot holes and they cannot go alternate routes. Think about it. Put yourself in their shoes for a minute.

I want to acknowledge all the school bus drivers. I drive alot and have recently been paying attention to any sign I see that says Caution school bus stop. Wow if you pay attention to where these drivers have to drive and pick up students you would be amazed. They do this Monday through Friday. Early in the morning and in the afternoon. In the rain and sleet and all kinds of weather conditions. It amazes me when I see some of the dangerous style roads they have to drive that huge bus through.
Let us not forget that this bus is operated in Alberta, Canada where the law requires the use of amber flashing lights prior to the use of the red 8-way light system. The light systems are only used in rural settings and the amber lights give motorists a warning and an opportunity to pass before the red lights come on. In Alberta it is illegal to pass a school bus with the red lights activated.
