  • The purpose of the day of atonement is not to "reveal who was truly a believer" @7:50.

    Leviticus 16:30 tells us:

"On this day covering will be made for you, to cleanse you. Then, before YHVH, you will be clean from all your sins."

I wish this man would study justification, and stop preaching this endurance salvation lie. Eternal life is a free (Romans 3:24) gift (Romans 6:23), given only by God's mercy (Titus 3:5).

  • @preachinshawn

What he says is true, the ceremonial Day of Atonement in Lev 16 pictured God's atonement in the gift of Christ Jesus. All whose sins enter into His temple are covered by the blood of the Lamb. That's what the day represented, that's why God had His people act out ceremonially in the earthly temple what would take place in the actual heavenly sanctuary.

"And not only so, but we also joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now received the ATONEMENT." Romans 5:11.

  • @preachinshawn

All whose sins entered the temple were ceremonially shown to be forgiven.

"Blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven, and whose sins are covered." Rom 4:7

Notice Paul is quoting from Romans chapter 4, and is talking about JUSTIFICATION. So all who have faith to confess and turn from their sins are forgiven, their sins are covered by Christ's righteousness in place of our unrighteousness. That is JUSTIFICATION.

  • @preachinshawn

So all who accept Christ's gift of grace and purpose in the hearts to obey Jesus, repenting of their past sins and turning from them, are justified by Christ's righteousness.

All those whose sins are NOT brought into the temple--sins that are NOT repented of and confessed--are NOT forgiven. We all have the opportunity to accept Christ's gift of grace, but if we still choose to live a sinful lifestyle, it shows that we did NOT believe His Gospel. Rom 6:1-4, Heb 10:26.

If you study justification it not only is it the legal declaration of sins forgiven, but also it the born again experience. Too many people think it only in legal terms, but it is the washing and regeneration too (Titus 3). The biggest misconception is that once justified always justified. But the Gospel is conditional, which in no way makes it less of a free gift. Only by remaining "in Christ" can justification be retained and the process of sanctification continue.

  • @preachinshawn Matt 10:12, 24:13, Luke 10:13, 1 Cor 15:2, 2 Cor 13:5, Col 1:23, 2 Tim 2:12, Hebrews 3:6, James 1:12 speak of preserving one's faith. Paul warns Christians not to become proud of their relationship with Christ for they can be cut off- Rom 11:19-24, 1 Cor 10:1-12. Paul could be lost 1 Cor 9:24-27. Jesus speaks of a class (Christians) who will be lost- Matt 7:21-23, 25:31-46. We must understand salvation is conditional, We must remain in Christ.

    Questions:

    How are our sins "cancelled"?

How are our sins "blotted out"?

Are these words from a particular verse?

  • justmehere984

What scriptures makes you believe that justification can be removed?

  • @preachinshawn

Salvation consists of two aspects: pardon & reclamation. Our sins are cancelled when we accept CHRIST but they are not then blotted out! Atonement is in two stages. GOD vindicates HIS actions through the services of the Heavenly Sanctuary. Not only is HE just in forgiving us but HE is just when HE blots out our sins. Why? Because HE declares us righteous & actually makes us righteous (Rom 3:26; Is 55:10-11; Ps 33:6,9; Rom 4:17; Heb 11:3).GOD transforms us (Mk 4:26-29; 2 Cor 5:17)

  • May the message of Present Truth be sounded loud & clear! May all of GOD's professed people look to the Sanctuary & behold CHRIST officiating therein, writing HIS Law in our hearts & minds. May we realise that HE is our all-powerful mediator.

  • @preachinshawn The day of atonement absolutely revealed who was and was not a believer. The sinner that did not confess, repent, and sacrifice the lamb during the daily services of the temple did not then have the blood of Jesus (lamb) tranferred into the sanctuary(by blood or by flesh). Which means that there could be no atonement for that individual b/c he did not have the blood transferred to his account (Heb 9:22). Lev 23 says that the person that did not participate in that day was cut off.

  • @preachinshawn if you believe once saved always saved, you dont agree. a man can choose to be saved and then later he can go back to his sinful life choosing to be lost. king saul did this. he was a man of God, then he backslid. thats why its called backsliding. thats why its called falling away. if ur always saved then theres nothing to fall or backslide from.

if u dont believe once saved always saved then my apologies.

Bohr's 'endurance salvation lie" is not a lie, it's bible.
