Sailing the 470 is not hard, it just takes a lot of skill, the boat responds very well and sails without drift on the minimum of winds, the only downside is you have to know how to do watercraft body repair and work with fiber glass, because the boat takes on lots of stress, and afther a seson of sailing you might have to do some patch jobs.

The 470 is a lot harder to drive. for the crew its almost the same except you are working non stop, working the main. The driver has a lot more to handle. There is so much weatherhelm. you need to be really experienced in driveing a trapper.But they are so much more fun.

these guys are sailing on a 470 so the sail area is much bigger so it will be harder control and the weather conditions could be harder than what you might sail on.

Not really no, crew weights the same just size, speed and skill needed i have a 420 and am getting a 470 soon but ive had a lot of experience sailing them!
