Transitions Optical celebrated the first day of summer by declaring June 21st the "First Official Day to Live Life Less Squinty," challenging consumers to pledge to wear eyewear that will help improve the quality of vision by protecting the eyes from bright light and glare and reducing the need to squint, and also by scheduling regular, comprehensive eye exams with the eye doctor.
The summer season means spending more time outdoors enjoying the bright sunlight -- which can have both uncomfortable short-term and more serious long-term implications on your vision. In fact, more than eight out of 10 people agree that glare and bright light negatively affect their eyesight, causing squinting, eye strain, eye fatigue, headaches, and premature wrinkling around the eyes.
