Actualy the safety into a smart on that speed is the same as the Mercedes E-classe. Check the crashtests here on Youtube. SmartForTwo scores amzingly good on the Euro N-cap.

idk why they did it but at 2:15 they are in open ground to the left is an open field when the guy goes to fall out and they go to the inside of the car view the guy grabs him but outside the window are people with fence behind them which wouldn't be the view.
