Protesters picket the absurd Love Won Out conference in Phoenix, where so-called "ex-gays" go to acting school to pretend to be straight and pray away the gay.

  • It's okay to have your own religious worldview but when you start coerceing/forcing others to live by it it stops being ok.

Fundamentalist folks cannot continue attempting to dictate to others how to live. It's wrong on every level. It must stop.

  • What prehistoric rock did you climb out from under? You're dead wrong in your assessment and your bigotry and phobia stinks to high heaven. If you go to the AMA, APA and virtually all other medical and psychological websites (google them) you will see that virtually every one of these groups states that homosexuality (same gender orientation) is not an illness or disease but is a natural orientation. Go look it up Einstein and stop trying to use the Bible to abuse people!!

  • @FreeThinkingLesbian Yeah, really!

    LOL XD

  • Can I pray the WBC away?

  • What is considered "equal" & "just" isn't objective when man is making the determination. Henceforth, America's Founding Fathers did their level best not to go there, leaving ppl free to persue their own respective happiness. That is all the equality we're given. Ppl disabilties aren't "equal" according to man's standards. See my point? Legally speaking, in these United States, you can provide for your dependents, etc, as everyone else can. All other "rights" come from the Creator.

  • "The truth"? And what exactly is that truth? Most gay people, like most adults, don't need validation from anyone. What they do want is to have their jobs, assets, benefits, and children be protected, just the same as everyone else. In most of the US, that is not status quo, and that is extremely frustrating. Difference of opinion is a lot easier when both parties are on equal footing. Most gay people in the US are not.

  • Good for you. I never said that it was inconsistent, I only mean that what is in the bible is not a pure account, but what was decided upon by a group of people that had their own interests and that had nothing to do with any of the people that actually wrote the gospels. If anything it had better be consistent if it's been edited and moulded to be a certain way.

  • Homosexuals can't tolerate the truth. They get mean & nasty. They have the right to live as homosexuals, practice it, etc. No one is stopping them. Their insecurity & need for validation of what they do drives them to the public square to force legislation for that validation. And that's wrong. Our rights are God given, not govt given, according to Declaration of Independence. Henceforth, they've got the same rights as everyone else.

  • I've read my Bible a number of times & continue to do so. Thanks for recommending it. The Bible is consistent, from beginning to end, Genesis to Revelation. Enough said.

  • "Love won out"? What the hell is that supposed to mean? That gays don't have love in their lives, that they need to be straight to achieve that love?

  • "YOU are brainwashed. Read the Bible!" So forming your own conclusions is being brainwashed, whereas basing your conclusions off an edited, hacked up book of stories is being totally enlightened? I don't mean any offense to those who receive inspiration and guidance from the bible, I just think it's silly to act like you know all the answers because you got them from a book that has been severely compromised again and again throughout the course of history.

  • come on.. there's no reason to get offensive. Nobody forces anyone to change. Every participant is there of free will. This is our believe as Christians. I don't have a problem if someone chooses to be gay but let us be straight.
