T-6 Texan at the 2008 Commemorative Air Force (Heart of America Wing) Air Expo. Doug Jackson's "Zero" - also designated AI-101 - was converted from a World War II North American T-6 Texan for a role in the 1972 movie "Tora! Tora! Tora!"

  • My brother flys the Al-114 tail number. My dad flew Al-111 in the 70s.

  • Tora! Tora! Tora! is one of my favorite movies. The A-6 worked great as a T-6m, the only way to tell them apart is the A6m has a longer landing gear and the T-6 has thinner wings.

They still worked great at recreating the Zero.

  • @77Pacer Yes, they were ALSO transformed. Sorry I said they were both planes.

  • @edestci Yes. The D3A1 Vals were BT-13s, & the B5N2 Kates were BOTH planes.

  • The Aichi D3A5 "Val" and Nakajima BN-5 "Kate" in the motion picture was also transformed?
