So sorry to hear about this. They are all beautiful little babies. RIP little angels.

@LDX97 yup, that and it's hard for kittens to regulate their own body temperature at this early age.. they can do it, but it's hard. this doesn't look like a safe environment..

Sorry to hear about this. It's good that you got this video as it's really well done and captures their kittenness perfectly. Along with that nice hardwood floor. I always wondered why cats have such large birth population. This is probably one of the reasons.

but they still had a chance!!!! =(

what is fading kitten syndrome?

I'm sorry this happened. Hopefully you continue to foster. I have not yet experienced fading kitten syndrome. I'm very careful that my kittens stay segregated with mama cat in a room that is warm and well sanitized. No one goes in to see them with shoes on or unwashed hands. I was surprised to see your fosters, eyes barely open and unable to crawl, in a very large open space and on hardwoods. I'm sure that had nothing to do with the fading kitten syndrome, but nevertheless, kinda worried me.
I've never heard of Fading Kitten Syndrome! What is it? I'm so sorry. How sad you must be.I hope you find the courage to keep fostering.

Newborn kittens are fragile, helpless creatures who rely on their mother for nutrition as well as social education. Kittens that do not survive the first few weeks may have "fading kitten syndrome." About 20-40% of all kittens born will not survive past 12 weeks of age. Causes of kitten death in the first 12 weeks of life are generally linked to problems associated during development in the uterus, with the birth process or around the time of weaning.
