DESCRIPTION: Death in America is largely a foodborne illness. Focusing on studies published just over the last year in peer-reviewed scientific medical journals, Michael Greger, M.D., offers practical advice on how best to feed ourselves and our families to prevent, treat, and even reverse many of the top 15 killers in the United States.
Dr. Greger uploads a new video every weekday to NutritionFacts.org, the first non-commercial, science-based website to provide free daily updates on the latest discoveries in clinical nutrition. Subscribe for free at http://bit.ly/nutritionfactsupdates.

You definitely agree vegetables are healthy, guess what? Plants are the only form of dietary fiber, so your comment that "fiber is overrated" sounds like you would suggest vegetables are overrated? Please keep educating yourself, one day people will wake up and realize the Low-Carb fad (which suggest low plant food) is a joke and should be avoided if your true desire is optimum health seek out a "whole food plant based diet"!

Oh yah Dr. Dean Ornish.....although his treatment includes other lifestyle changes and is not just diet orientated, he has proven success on a nearly 100% whole food plant based diet...he allows for very small amount of dairy and egg whites only, limiting cholesterol to 10mg per day.

You'll just have to do some research on that there are plenty, but make sure we are talking about the same thing here "whole food plant based diet", vegetarian and vegan practitioners done improperly may be unhealthy just like the S.A.D. Dr. Greger references vegan and vegetarian because some of the studies he is siting uses those as an example but if you listen the main promotion here is a "whole food plant based diet" learn the guidelines of this diet, the closer to this diet, optimum health!

Which other MDs and biochemists are advocates of this type of diet? Or maybe it would be better to ask which of them advocate vegetarianism/veganism because I definitley agree that vegetables are healthy. I just dont agree exclusion of meat is.

Once again, you do not seem to understand this, Dr. Greger is not alone in his conclusion that a whole food plant based diet is the healthiest diet at warding off cancer, heart disease, diabetes, inflammation, and many more health problems. I will continue to take my advice from MD's and biochemist specializing in nutrition.

Dont assume from his profession that hes unqualified to give nutritional advice. IMO the science on that site is higher quality than most medical journals, and certainly more thorough than Dr. Greger's sparse nitpicking.
