Montage of elements named after gymnasts in the 2009 Code for Floor Exercise. Where possible I have tried to show the person the skill was named after

  • Is the double arabian tucked named after anyone? The first I remember seeing was Karpenko in 1997.

  • It isn't named after anyone. The first person to perform it at a worlds was Martina Jentsch in 1987.

  • Since when is the full-twisting double layout named after Chusovitina? It was first performed in 1987, four years before Chusovitina competed at Worlds. Did they add her name to the most recent code since she performed hers as a layout full out? I would have sworn she wasn't credited with the element before.

  • It has been called the Chusovitina in the code since 2006 (I haven't got any codes from before then so I don't know if she was credited with it before that)

  • I've been wanting to know this for a long time: Is the double arabian 1/2 twist the same as a half in half out? For example what Patterson or Shwiekert (they come to mind when thinking about half in-half outs) were actually double arabians 1/2 twists? or are they different?

  • The code does distinguish between the 2 but the difference is pretty minimal. I have often thought that Sacramone's half-in, half-out looks like a double arabian 1/2. Both are worth the same in the code so I suppose it doesn't really matter which the judges credit it as (unless someone tries to do both in the same routine)

  • i think it is terrible that the new code doesn't allow the step back when landing. for whatever reason, all the beauty & artistry of womens gymnastics is being eleminated. at this rate, by 2012, the men and women should compete against eachother!

  • I'd like to see a gymnast open with a Dos Santos II, followed by the Chusovitina, then Silivas, and dismounting with a Podkopayeva. With a Gomez thrown in there. That'd be insane ha

  • @MostepanovaFan yes but what I have always wondered is that a full twisting double piked is an E element where as if someone were to do a double arabian pike half out would be an F so I'm kinda confused as to what they would give that

  • Pokapyeva a F?

  • Thanks, this was so helpful for a story I'm trying to write as my coach just calls them by what you do in the skill, not there names.

  • Double Twisting Double Tuck chama-se "Tsukahara", movimento executado por Mitsuo Tsukahara em 1970 e não "Mukhina", como está no video.

O "Chusovitina" também está errado. Chusovitina é o Double Straight with Full Turn.

E quanto ao "Silivas", há controvérsias, uma vez que este movimento acrobático foi realizado pela primeira vez por Li Ning, nos Jogos Olímpicos de Los Angeles em 1984.

  • Great montage!

0:16 LOL =) "Popa" means "ass" in Russian.

  • Still have yet to see any girl do a Podkopayeva on the floor and its 2011! It should be an F! Code of Points blow!

  • @aleksdeabreu Submit your idea to Parkette's and one of their gymnast will be doing those passes, soon.

  • during cheng fei the thingys r in korean

  • @MaebySurelyBarely I'm guessing Jiang Yuanyuan or Sui Lu.

  • @krell88 sometimes they don't increase the difficulty value to discourage people from doing the skill. since it is the same as just a double front, no one else(to my knowledge) has competed it. The only person I think could do it today in competition is Rebecca Bross.
